An independent data reference on one narrow question: what actually happens with your money when you rent a car.
Deposit Index tracks the deposit and payment conditions of live car rental offers: whether a deposit is required, how large it is, which payment methods the supplier accepts, and what excess applies. The data is collected automatically, aggregated into ranges, and refreshed weekly. Every page shows the date of its last verification.
We are not a rental company and we do not own cars. The index is a reference layer: when you book through the search on our pages, the rental agreement is concluded directly between you and the rental company, and the booking voucher - not this site - is the binding document for a specific car. We may earn a commission when a booking is completed through our pages; this does not affect the data, which is collected identically for every offer.
Rental conditions are set per company and per car, and they change. Publishing a single "the deposit in this country is X" figure would be false the day after publication. Ranges with medians and verification dates describe the market as it is; the voucher shows the exact figure for the car you pick before you pay.
Corrections and data questions: [email protected]. If you represent a rental company and believe an aggregate misrepresents your terms, include the offer reference and we will re-verify it in the next weekly cycle.
